主講人：Cuiling Zhang is a senior research fellow at China Population and Development Research Center. She is the Member of the IUSSP Panel "COVID-19, Fertility, and the Family" and and the council member of the China Population Association as well as a member of European Association for Population Studies(EAPS) and Population Association of America(PAA). She was also a visiting scholar at the Vienna Institute of Demography and the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in 2017 and 2019. She holds a Ph.D. in social demography. Her research focuses on family change, gender equity and fertility, population development, and policy evaluation in China. She served as the PI/co-PI for annual projects for the National Social Science Foundation and the PI both of national and provincial Seventh National Population Census projects.

內容簡介：Since 2016, the Universal Two-child policy and the Universal Three-child policy have been gradually come into practice. Between is the three years pandemic, which affects greatly external impact on economic and social life. On the national level, the fertility fluctuation has further intensified during this period. However, due to the data accessibility, the study on the fertility transition on provincial level is quite limited and delayed. This talk set itself within the new population policy scenarios and external pandemic period and will convey the observation and the analysis results regarding to birth number, birth timing and the recent fertility trends both from national and provincial level, based on and the national birth registration data and the 2020 population Census of China. As well, the speaker will demonstrate the impact of the pandemic on the birth change across period.
